Privacy policy

clipinai.com (“we”), Surat, Gujarat, India, runs clipinai.com. This policy explains what personal data we process, which outside services receive it and your rights. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.
What we collect
- Account: email, name and username (optional), a hashed password, sign-in times and devices.
- Your content: your clips stay on your device while you edit. When you make a video we receive only the parts of your clips, photos and song that the video uses, the text you type, and the video we make from them.
- Payments: the product, amount, coupon, invoice details you enter (name, GSTIN, address) and Razorpay's payment and order IDs. Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay only; we never see or store them.
- Waitlist: your email, what you make (optional) and who invited you.
- Technical: IP address, browser and error reports from our own servers, used for security, rate limits and fixing bugs.
Every outside service we use
These providers process data only to run clipinai.com, under contracts that require them to protect it. We do not sell your data, and we use no advertising networks and no session-recording / screen-replay tools.

Why we use it (legal basis)
- To provide the service you asked for: storing uploads, making videos, your history and receipts (contract).
- To take payments and keep records that tax law requires (legal obligation).
- To keep the service secure and stop abuse (legitimate interest).
- Optional emails about offers and WhatsApp messages only with your consent; turn them off in Account → Notifications.
Who can see your content
Only you, unless you share a video link (anyone with that link can watch and download that one video until you delete it). Staff open your files only to fix a problem you report or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Clip parts you send: deleted automatically within 24 hours. Finished videos: after 7 days. Unfinished uploads: after 24 hours.
- Account data: until you delete your account. Server logs: up to 90 days.
- Payment and invoice records: as long as tax law requires (usually 8 years in India), even after you delete your account.
Your rights
You can see, download, correct and delete your data. Download all your data and Delete my account (which erases your profile, uploads and videos at once) are in Account. EU/UK visitors can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it and complain to their data protection authority.
International transfers
Your data is stored in India. Some providers above may process it in other countries; where required we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Children
clipinai.com is not meant for children under 13. Users under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission to pay.
Security
Passwords are hashed with scrypt, sessions use signed HTTP-only cookies, all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), the clip parts you send and your finished videos are stored encrypted (AES-256) and only decrypted while your video is being made or while you download it, optional two-step login is available and every file is private to its owner's account.
